Last year we welcomed over 2000 visitors to St Mary’s for this great exhibition. This year the dates are Saturday 5th September to Sunday 13th September. We are open every day from 10.00 to 5.00pm (from 11.00am on Sundays). This time we have 17 great artists:

Workshops and Demonstrations

This year we have an exciting range of demonstrations and workshops throughout the week, each run by one of our participating artists. They take place most days at 10.30 am and 2.00pm. To book a place please contact the artist in question directly (email booking links below.

Patterned Polymer Clay Buttons by Sally Boehme – cost £10 (payable on the day)This one hour workshop will allow you to create at least 6 polymer clay buttons, in colours of your choice. You will learn simple striped and feather patterns, giving each button its own unique look. Choose shapes and sizes for your buttons to suit before taking them home to bake in your own oven. Make a textured snack & dip bowl with Vanessa Burley – cost £25 (payable on the day)Using a range of Vanessa’s textures, make a slab built snack and dip bowl from clay using a template. Adding underglazes to enhance the textures. Vanessa will bisque then glaze fire your bowl ready to pick up in approximately 3 weeks. Organic Sculpting workshop with Wendy HealeyCome along to my workshop to explore and create. Using an eclectic mix of natural found materials such as branches bracken wool muslin string straw seeds clay … we will follow the rhythm of chosen materials allowing them to merge and emerge into fascinating forms. Bring an apron, materials provided. The workshop will last about 90 minutes.Wednesday 9th September at 10.30am
Local botanicals in ink and watercolour with Sian Gibbs – cost: £5 (payable on the day.Design/sketch out and create an A5 drawing on watercolour paper of a local botanical or fungi. Please bring with you a photograph of your choice, which you will use as your reference image. A good photo for this purpose will be clear and have quite a lot of colour and contrast. As we’re in Herefordshire, it could be anything – a heritage apple or pear, your favourite woodland flower, or even the ubiquitous and alluring fly agaric. It will be better if it’s your own photograph or one you have permission to use. The workshop will be up to 2.5 hours, depending on individual speed, complexity, and your personal comfort with the subject matter you’ve chosen. For my part, I will provide all the art materials you need to complete the task. We’ll be learning how to use colour, line work and hatching to achieve depth and vibrancy. There are other venues nearby including Made in Ross at the Market House with whom we work very closely.

Tasty homemade refreshments will be on sale for the whole of the exhibition and comfortable cafe style seating will be available in St Mary’s throughout.

Please note that disabled access to the venue (to avoid steps) is via the churchyard gate near Crossfields Carpark, then across the west (tower) end of the church. This is restricted due to structural problems with the tower, but still possible.
